The executive arm of government is responsible for running the affairs of the State and for implementing the laws of the State as provided by the constitution and enacted by the Legislature. The Governor is the chief executive of the State. He is assisted by the Deputy Governor, Commissioners, Special Advisers and Senior Special Assistants in discharging his responsibilities. The State Executive Council which he chairs is responsible for making policies while the ministries, agencies and other offices (MDAs) are the main implementation bodies. The residence and office of the Governor are located in Government House.
